Mommies Training - Program

The workshop offers participants solution-focused information and guidance on maternal-infant bonding and other aspects of parenting; appropriate assessment during pregnancy; clinical management stages including maintenance medication selection, induction, and stabilization; opioid agonist medication management before, during and after delivery; pain management before, during, and after delivery; safe breast-feeding practices; addressing co-occurring disorders including perinatal mood disorders; maintaining recovery support during postpartum period; identification and management of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS); and guidance on developing a collaborative care model for this population. Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Describe Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) to include management recommendations.
  • Recognize the importance of using an integrated model of care for pregnant and/or parenting women with substance use disorders.
  • Identify the key components of a successful integrated model of care for pregnant and/or parenting women receiving substance use disorder treatment or intervention services.
